Transit Initiatives and Communities Recap

The Center for Transportation Excellence’s Transit Initiatives and Communities Conference was held recently in Atlanta. Americans for Transit also partnered with CFTE to put on a half-day pre-conference grassroots transit organizers peer training session.

There were a lot of great stories and tactics shared, lessons learned, and connections made both on Sunday and throughout the entire conference. Move LA has a nice wrap up of some of the major policy takeaways from the main portion of the conference. It includes a discussion of transit finance, the state legislative fights for transit we heard about across the country, and making the business case for transit. Read move LA’s write up here.

Here are some photos of the rock star presenters at our Sunday pre-conference session. Huge thanks to all of the presenters who shared their informative and inspiring stories and to the 60+ people who attended and CFTE for partnering with us and hosting. Out of this meeting we will be setting up a Southeast regional support network. If you are interested in joining click here for info.
